Admin Pinning for Message Extensions

Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Experts

From Microsoft Corporation
Technical Bulletin MC336253 · Published Feb 25, 2022

Message Summary

Admin pinning for apps will allow admins to pre-pin and surface applications, specifically message extensions, relevant for their tenant.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 87506.

When this will happen:

We expect this feature to begin rolling out in mid-March and expect the rollout to be fully completed by early April.

How this will affect your organization:

Admins will have controls that would enable them to select applications to pre-pin for users in their tenant. These applications will come pre-installed for users and be easily accessible via the compose bar.

Admins can configure the Pinned apps selection within the “Setup Policies” section in the admin center.Microsoft Teams - Admin Pinning

What you need to do to prepare:

Admins should review the pre-pinned apps settings to ensure that the list of applications reflects the needs of their tenant.
