New SharePoint Feature

“Updated December 6, 2019: We have updated the roll-out timeline.We’re expanding the in-product help that appears at the top-right of your SharePoint team sites.

We’ll begin gradually rolling this out to targeted release customers mid-January (previously December).
The rollout will be completed by the end of February 2020 (previously January).

How does this affect me?

SharePoint will help your users build new sites by providing contextual help. To see the tips, click on the megaphone in the Office 365 suite header above the team site.
Currently there are four tips your users might see: upload files, add members, post news, and add additional Office 365 Group apps.

These tips help your users customize and improve their team sites. Tips are useful for anyone learning more about SharePoint or setting up a new team site for the first time.

What do I need to do to prepare for this change?

There is nothing you need to do to prepare for this change.
