MC225373, Plan For Change, Published date: Oct 29, 2020Admin impact
We will be retiring the Skype for Business admin center starting on December 1st, 2020. Instead, we recommend the utilization of Teams admin center, which is where we will continue to invest our development resources.
- Major: Retirement
- Timing: December 01, 2020
- Action: Transition to the Teams admin center
How this will affect your organization:
Administrators will no longer be able to access the Skype for Business admin center when this change is implemented. Links to the Skype for Business admin center will be removed and existing bookmarks will no longer work.
There is no change to the Skype for Business PowerShell module or Call quality dashboard. The retirement of the Skype for Business admin center does not impact these services.
What you need to do to prepare:
Instead of using the Skype for Business admin center, we recommend using the Teams admin center. In addition to controls for the operation, administration and management of Microsoft Teams, Teams admin center provides the controls necessary to manage the tenant and user configurations of Skype for Business.
