Per our announcement at Ignite 2020, we are introducing three new surfaces for Teams meetings: a pre- and post-meeting tab; an in-meeting side panel; and in-meeting content notifications.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 68733.
When this will happen
We will begin rolling this out in late October and expect rollout to be complete by early December 2020.How this will affect your organization
This is a net new feature and apps must continue to honor the app permission policies that you have set for your users and organization.
Three new meeting surfaces
As part of this new feature, we are allowing anonymous users to also interact with apps. They will not be able to add, remove, or configure apps, but they will be able to interact with apps. These anonymous users will get the global default user-level app permission policy so another way to control is by using the user-level global app permission policy. What you need to do to prepare
User-level permission policies will continue to be honored.
If you do not wish for anonymous users to be able to interact with apps, you can disable the feature in the Teams admin portal under Meeting settings.
