New Feature: Option to end meetings and appointments early in Outlook on the web

From Microsoft Corporation

MC212343, Stay Informed, Published date: May 8, 2020

With more meetings being held online, we are adding an option to end all meetings and appointments earlier when you schedule a meeting in Outlook on the web.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 63384.

When this will happen

We will begin rolling out this feature to Standard Release customers in mid-May 2020, and the rollout should be complete by late July. How this affects your organization

Similar to Outlook for Windows, we are adding the “end appointments and meetings earlier” setting in Outlook on the web. This setting allows users to end all the events they schedule earlier, with a pre-determined time for events that are under or over 60-min. This buffer helps users take breaks in back-to-back meetings. This can be enabled in their calendar settings. This setting can be turned on in Outlook on the web or Outlook for Windows and will replicate between them.

What you need to do to prepare

You might consider updating your user training and documentation. See Manage your time while working from home with Outlook.
