Message Summary

Updated May 26, 2022: We have updated the content below to show as intended. Thank you for your patience.

When using Microsoft 365 and Security groups, emails are sent to users in the following scenarios:

  • Email sent to group owner when a user requests to join their group
  • Email sent to requestor when group owner approves or denies their request
  • Emails that occur when group expiration is enabled (Microsoft 365 groups only)

We are using a new service to send these emails, resulting in the email coming for a different sender alias.

When this will happen:

We will begin rollout in late June and complete rollout by early July.

How this will affect your organization:

Anyone in your organization who uses groups will continue to receive emails during the scenarios listed above, however, these emails will come from a different sender.

What you need to do to prepare:

At this time, there is no action required. We recommend making end users aware of this email change if required.
