Technical Bulletin MC281936 · Published Aug 31, 2021 · Last updated Oct 19, 2021

Message Summary

Updated October 19, 2021: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

Sensitivity labels allow Teams admins to protect and regulate access to sensitive organizational content created during collaboration within teams. With this update, you will be able to apply sensitivity labels to teams created from templates as well.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 84232.

When this will happen:

We will begin rolling this out in late September and expect to complete rollout by the end of November (previously mid-October).

How this will affect your organization:

End users will now be able to use the sensitivity labels that Admins have created within the tenant when creating a team from a team template.

What you need to do to prepare:

Please share the below links with users so they understand how to create a team from a template with sensitivity labels.
