View the Full Chat conversation thread after clicking on search message results

Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Experts

From Microsoft Corporation
Technical Bulletin MC428512 · Published Sep 9, 2022

Message Summary

When users search for a chat message in Teams and click on a message result, they are taken to a view that contains only the selected message, rather than the entire chat thread. This fix will now land the users on the full chat thread once the message search result is clicked, thereby providing full context of the conversation around the message result.

The feature will be rolling out for Teams Desktop and Web clients and is applicable to message results on the SERP page and the contextual search surfaces.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 97510

When this will happen:

Standard: We will begin rolling this out in early October and complete late October 2022.

GCC: We will begin rolling this out in early October and complete late October 2022.

GCC-H: We will begin rolling this out in late October and complete mid-November 2022.

DoD: We will begin rolling this out in early January and complete mid-January 2023.

What you need to do to prepare:
